Selective Laser Sintering
Selective laser sintering is a process which produces a physical,
three dimensional object, a conceptual model or master pattern.
A Selective laser sintering machine uses a computer controlled
laser to fuse or sinter thin layers of powdered thermoplastic
materials or metals to create a 3D model. The Selective laser
sintering process has the widest selection of material properties
and capabilities of any rapid prototyping process. Producing
a pre-production Selective laser sintering part can significantly
enhance communication among project team members. This physical
model will allow manufacturers to accommodate engineering
design changes quickly and improve supportability.
